Study Summary
This phase II trial is studying how well sorafenib works in treating patients with progressive regional or metastatic cancer of the urothelium. Sorafenib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth and by blocking blood flow to the tumor.
Primary Outcome
Survival estimate from the Kaplan-Meier curve of the proportion of patients alive and progression-free at 4 months. Progression-free survival is defined as the time from registration to progression or death, whichever occurs first. Progression is defined as at least a 20% increase in the sum of the longest diameters of target lesions, taking as reference the smallest sum longest diameter recorded since the baseline measurements, or the appearance of one or more new lesion(s) or unequivocal pro
